Astana powerfully started the game and after two first minutes was up by 7:0 – they accurately shot both 3-pointers and 2-pointers. But Loko failed to score from distance. However, when Taylor Rochestie came on the court, the situation had changed. Later Obradovic let the tall five out – Jones, Zubkov, Ivlev, Broekhoff and not so tall Rochestie, and they did it well. Three minutes before an end of the quarter, Loko was a leader. The result of the first period – 20:18 in favor of our team.
In the second quarter, Astana played actively in defense and didn’t let Loko score for some time. On the opposite side of the court, Kazakhstan’s Ian Miller scored threes and defended well, making Loko do mistakes. Obradovic called a timeout, and Loko started to remedy the situation. But still the first half of the game ended 35:32 in favor of Astana.
In the third period, both teams focused on defense. Astana also managed to score, but Loko lagged. Astana’s advantage reached 8 points, while in Loko, only Kevin Jones scored. In the end of the quarter, Baburin scored three, and everybody forgot about the advantage of the guests.
