We have a hot start of the year: after an away game in Spain against Gran Canaria, Krasnodar welcomes UNICS, a participant of Euroleague. Yevgeny Pashutin’s team is well playing in the VTB United League and has suffered one defeat only – on the road against Khimki. Moreover, UNICS is strengthening its roster along the season. For example, Orlando Johnson has perfectly fit the team in the mid of the season.
Loko is still the only team which beat CSKA, while UNICS hasn’t played against the Moscow team yet. Loko played 14 games against UNICS and won 8 of them. The teams are neighbors in the standings, and in case of a win, Krasnodar will be ahead of Kazan.
Valdimir Ivlev, Forward of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban:
- The game against UNICS is very important for us not only because it’s our direct rival and a neighbor in the standings, but also because we want to maintain confidence after a win over Gran Canaria. We will try to show our best and set our pace in the game; in this case, it will be easier for us to control the game. We hope to start the new year not only from an away win, but also from a win at home, and to please of fans.
